Chimneyswift released their first full length album Burnt Out Clutch, Blown Out Brakes in late 2023. Gus Kohler contributed bass tracks for seven of the twelve songs on this album. Gus also played live with Chineyswift at the album release show.

Chimneyswift’s style of Americana was something that Gus was able to lean into. The laid back folk music feel of the album was something that Gus was able to support on electric bass by setting a firm foundation without being overpowering.
